While they admit they haven’t seen it, Democratic Representatives John Conyers, John Dingell, Jane Harman, and Louise Slaughter have called on ABC to fix the “inaccuracies” in its mini-series The Path to 9/11 before its scheduled airing on September 10th and 11th.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall any Democrats—or, more to the point, Republicans—demanding that Michael Moore fix the inaccuracies in Fahrenheit 9/11 before its release. What I do remember is a large group of congressional Democrats attending its Washington opening and commenting favorably on it. I also recall the inaccurate Mr. Moore being given a place of honor by being seated next to Jimmy Carter at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Inaccuracies that favor their side evidently don’t bother them.
That’s because of the accuracies that are allegedly in this film will rebuke five years of partisan attacks against President Bush that he wasn’t the only one who was sleeping at the wheel.
True – and similarly, I recall no Democarts complaining about the complete fabrications in the TV movie on the Reagans a few years back. The writer of that film defended the inaccuracies by saying “That is how I view the Reagans.” – never mind that those conversations and events depicted never happened.
Unfortunately, people tend to recall general “feelings” about events rather than specific facts. Ronald Reagan has been depicted as a dunce so mant times that the very real facts to the contrary are ignored. Likewise, there is the general feeling among many that Pres Bush lost the 2000 election in the Florida recounts, that the war in Iraq is just a big mess or that the Federal Govertmnent was responsible for the Katrina devastation despite – the fact that this is all unsupported by facts.
So perhaps this film will leave the general feeling that the Clinton Administration was soft on terrorism and missed many opportunities to stop Osama Bin laden. The exact facts may be wrong – but the “feeling” is correct – for at least once.
ABC’s “The Path To 911” Is Now Totally Politicized (UPDATED)...
I haven’t weighed on the controversy over ABC’s upcoming docudrama “The Path to 911.” But now it’s time to say it.

What with the Rashideen and Gadahn videos praising Galloway, Fisk and Moore, and Khatami’s talking points sounding like taken from any Daily Kos diary, it looks like the Left has sealed its choice as to which side of history it will be recorded on.
“Inaccuracies that favor their side evidently don’t bother them.” Of course not, those are not inaccuracies, those are “fake but accurate” truths.

[...] Democratic Leader Harry Reid, Assistant Democratic Leader Dick Durbin, and Senators Debbie Stabenow, Charles Schumer, and Byron Dorgan have sent a letter to Robert Iger, the President and CEO of The Walt Disney Company (ABC’s parent company). The letter threatens to revoke ABC’s broadcast license if the contents of “The Path to 9/11” aren’t altered. I’ve already made my views known about the Democrats’ effort at censorship, so there’s no need to repeat them here. [...]
